Renée Morloc first studied viola and german philology in Stuttgart.
Afterwards she studied singing with Georg Jelden and Grace Hoffman in Stuttgart.
In Salzburg Mozarteum she continued opera singing and was in the Master Class of
Christa Ludwig, who is her favorite singer.
From 1990 to 1992 she was member of Mannheim Nationaltheater, where she had
her Opera début with „Erda“/Siegfried, followed by Fricka (Walküre), Ulrica (Un Ballo in Maschera) and Zia Principessa (Suor Angélica).
From 1992 to 1996 she changed to Hannover Staatsoper with the roles Amme (Frau ohne Schatten), Kabanicha (Katja Kabanova), Herodias (Salomé), Klytämnestra (Elektra),
Carmen etc.
Since 1996 she succeded in Düsseldorf with Ulrica
(Un Ballo in Maschera), Azucena (Il
Trovatore), Amneris (Aida), Quickly (Falstaff), Brangäne (Tristan und Isolde), Fricka
(Walküre)/(Rheingold), Erda (Siegfried), Waltraute (Götterdämmerung),
Zia Principessa, Zita, Frugola (Il Trittico), Geschwitz (Lulu).
Her last big success was her Amme (Frau ohne Schatten) in the exceptional
production of Guy Joosten in October 2008.
She is invited in many theaters for her interpretation, so as Erda, Fricka, Azucena
in Helsinki; Waltraute in Berlin (DOB), Hamburg and Kassel; Orféo (Gluck) in
Dresden, Carmen in Munich, Cornelia (Giulio Cesare) in Bern, Mary (Holländer,
conducted by Chr. Thielemann ) in Tokyo, Fricka, Waltraute in Narodny Divadlo
Praha, Herodias (Salome) in Nantes, Klytämnestra in Stuttgart (production of
P.Konwitschny) and Frankfurt, Begbick (Mahagonny) in Nancy, Larina (Eugene
Onegin, production Andrea Breth/conducted by Daniel Barenboim) in Salzburg
Festival 2007.
Brussels/ La Monnaie in Katja Kabanova / Kabanicha (production 2010 Leo Hussain, Andrea Breth) and Rusalka / Jezibaba production 2012 Adam
Fischer, Stefan Herheim), Grand Theatre Genève in Richard III / Duchesse of Yorck (production 2012 Zoltan Peskov, Robert Carsen).
In her Symphonic Repertoire the artist collaborates with orchestras like Wiener Philharminiker, Czech. Philharmonic Orchestra, Orquesta sinfónica de Espana
Madrid, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Münchner Philharmoniker, RSO Berlin, DSO Berlin, Bamberger Symphoniker, Hamburger Symphoniker, MDR Symphony Orchestra,
Helsinki Philharmonic, Orquesta sinfónica de Galicia, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. Mainly with Gustav Mahler :“Lied von der Erde“, Second, Third and
Eighth Symphony, Kindertotenlieder, Rückert-Lieder, Das Klagende Lied. She also sings the alto in Jeremiah Symphony (Leonard Bernstein), Ligeti
and Verdi Requiem, and contemporary music.
She takes part in the Festivals of Salzburg, Donaueschinger Musiktage, Warschauer Herbst, Budapester Frühling, Salzburg Mozartwochen, Berliner Festwochen,
Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele, Edinburg-Festival, Prager Frühling, etc.
Renée Morloc recorded a number of oratory and opera productions, among them the interisting productions „Lied von der Erde“ (oehms classics 2011) and the DVD
Eugene Onegin (Grammophon 2009 – recorded in Salzburg Festival 2007). The recital „Zigeunerlieder“ with different composers (Wolf, Brahms, Liszt, Schumann, Nagy,
Busoni, etc.), ARS- production.
